Monumental Prints / Nature, Politics and Humor. William Kent (1919-2012) is regarded as one of America’s greatest printmakers and sculptors, having lived as a recluse. His impressive body of work was displayed alongside legends like Jasper Johns, Robert Motherwell, and Phillip Guston. A Yale University alumnus, Kent served as the first curator of the John Slade Ely House and exhibited his art in renowned museums and galleries, including The Wadsworth Atheneum, Sundsvall Sweden, Colgate, Brooklyn Museum, Whitney Museum of American Art, and the New Britain Museum of American Art. Notably, his work can also be found at the Borough Six Gallery and the Six Gallery. His creations are part of esteemed collections at institutions such as the Smithsonian, Brooklyn Museum, Princeton University, Lyman Allen Art Museum, Yale University Art Gallery, and Florence Griswold. For a more intimate experience, private viewings and receptions are offered at his original studio, Chamard Vineyards, and the Six Gallery.
